Potboiler is a site-specific, new-writing theatre company based in Stoke-on-Trent which creates compelling, character-driven productions and theatrical experiences in the city and beyond it. Led by playwright Kat Boon and director Kat Hughes, we are both champions of the city that has made us and intrigued by how the city meets the rest of the world.

Beginning as a pub-theatre project in 2014, we have created work in pubs, beer gardens, town halls, empty shops, churches and nightclubs. We are passionate about audacious stories and big ideas, beautiful drama and immersive experiences, heartfelt and sincere but always with a good dose of irreverence, and bringing these to brand new spaces and brand new audiences.
